Benefits of Agile
““No matter the size of your marketing department, Agile Digital Marketing enables you to be more efficient, better address your customers’ wants, and be more aligned with the organisation’s goals””
You get more done - The Agile Digital Marketing approach results in up to 60% more work done.
You get the right things done - As a squad or an individual, you are developing ideas, scoring them, and then executing. It’s a team effort toward a team goal and agreed-upon priorities.
You adapt to change quickly - Digital marketers have been dealing with change since the invention of marketing, but agile means your ability to adapt to change is much quicker and more thoughtful.
You improve communications - Agile calls for teams to be aligned in their approach, and transparent in sharing what they’re working on. This leads to improved communication – and not just for the marketing team, but across departments including sales and senior management.

Completing the IDMNZ global certification in digital marketing has assisted me to grow hugely within our business, expanding into a space where we had limited capability and knowledge, and now our organisation is benefitting from me having fresh, up-to-date IP which I can put into practice daily.
I’m Sarah Eddy. I live in Christchurch and am married with three children. I’ve worked at a company in the meat industry for the past 12 years. For the first 10.5 years, I was the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. Back in 2006 when I joined, I worked in small corporate office of 14 people.
The company had business units all over New Zealand, but they were effectively their own individual operations. Over the years, we’ve gone through significant change and we moved into a shared services environment. That saw our corporate office in Christchurch grow steadily and now our workplace has 135 people. The Managing Director retired two years ago – he was very ‘old school’ – he didn’t use a computer and only in the last year of working together, did he start using an iPad and checking his emails. When the new CEO was appointed, the role became a lot less challenging as he was very tech-savvy and a lot of what I was doing for the Managing Director wasn’t required with the new CEO.
An opportunity came up in October 2017 in the Communications, Events and Digital Marketing space, which I was fortunate to move into. Our company hasn’t been keeping up in the quickly-moving world of digital, and it was obvious this was becoming a big gap in our organisation.
In 2018 I studied with the Institute of Digital Marketing to gain my qualification as a Certified Digital Marketing Professional and am now being tasked with various new challenges as I put my knowledge into practice. I’m looking forward to my annual review in March this year where I’ll receive an official change in title to Digital Marketing Manager and am currently enjoying leading a small project team to move our company forward in this digital marketing space.
I chose to study with the Institute of Digital Marketing for several reasons. The main reason was that the qualification was online which meant I could study at my own pace, in my own time, around my work and family. I also liked that the certification globally recognised and electronically accredited. The actual content of the qualification was extremely interesting and each module was presented by a different facilitator who specialises in that particular area. This was great as it mixed things up a bit so you’re not always listening and watching the same presenter.
It was great having the support of the team at IDMNZ. There were a number of times I needed assistance and they were always prompt to reply and could either help right away or point me in the right direction. It was also helpful having the regular online group video sessions to discuss the module of the week, listen to other people’s opinions, and have the management team ask you good questions to really get you thinking along the line you should be.
Completing the IDMNZ global certification in digital marketing has assisted me to grow hugely within our business, expanding into a space where we had limited capability and knowledge, and now our organisation is benefiting from me having fresh, up-to-date IP which I can put into practice daily. It’s also great that, when I’m ready, there are more certifications that complement the Certificate of Digital Marketing and will provide even more knowledge to the strong foundation the first qualification has already provided me.
The best thing for me about studying with the Institute of Digital Marketing has been the flexibility – being able to study as and when I can, on my laptop, on my phone, or on my iPad – at times that fit around my work and family. The fact that you have access to very talented and knowledgeable individuals at anytime to ask questions about either content or logistics of gaining your qualification (i.e. booking your exam) was also extremely valuable. The examination itself is also good in the fact that you can go to a local independent testing authority at a day and time that suits you.
I really enjoyed studying with the Digital Marketing Institute of New Zealand, and thank you for your guidance, assistance and most of all, my globally recognised Certification in Digital Marketing!

With the on going support from IDMNZ and the weekly Zoom meetings with the other students I was able to complete this with ease even while working a full time job. The modules are all set out in an easy to understand way which helped a lot with my time management on completing this certification and making sure I didn't miss important principles.
My name is Harrison Mudgway, i'm currently 21 years of age living in the beautiful city of Tauranga, New Zealand. I found my interest in marketing after trying to set up an online business during high school and not being able to bring in customers, this frustrated me and turns out this is the roll where marketing comes in to play. This is where my passion for business started.
I enrolled into a business course at Waikato University, where I started getting deeper into marketing, within a year I got sick of the extras that business brings for example accounting/economics so then decided to pursue only marketing and this is where my search for an education provider that focused just on this field alone began.
Within a few weeks I found The institute of Digital Marketing New Zealand and their Professional Diploma and course outline was a perfect match to what I wanted to learn. I chose to study with them because of the convenience of the online lectures, the depth of the modules and not to mention the prestige of the certification that comes with it.

After gaining this qualification my workplace has now recognised that I will be more than capable with managing and handling their marketing role, they know I will be able to complete all the proper steps to bringing in new customers with a professional approach to my methodology to this.
